White Cloth Wine | Victorian Wall Tile Project

Interior Designer: Hunters Daughter
Photographer: @georgecoppock
Tile: Victorian Brown 9×3 Wall Tile

Housed within the historic 17th-century White Cloth Hall, White Cloth Wine occupies a compact two-storey corner unit in Leeds city centre. Interior designers Hunters Daughter were appointed to remodel the listed building, opening up walls and connecting three former premises to form a unified hospitality destination.

Within this setting, White Cloth Wine delivers a sophisticated yet raw charm — its tactile material palette a nod to the building’s history. The space combines exposed brickwork, chunky timber beams and original floorboards with rich, handcrafted details.

At the heart of the design lies a glossy, hand-finished barfront clad in H&E Smith’s Victorian Brown 9×3 Wall Tile. The deep, lustrous glaze complements the warmth of the tanned leather banquettes and adds a subtle refinement to the ‘spit and sawdust’ aesthetic. The result is a bar that feels timeless — part rustic French farmhouse, part elegant city wine bar.
