9×3 Victorian Tiles used on the Thornwood Bar, Glasgow. The mood created by the design notes in a building can be critical in creating the right impression. H & E Smith supplied 9×3 frost treated Victorian tiles in Victorian Green to this beautiful pub at No 724 Dumbarton Road in Glasgow. These classic versatile products really set off the overall styling and create a hard wearing and attractive addition to this establishment.

The Thornwood Bar in Partick, which has been well known local pub for many years, has been taken over recently by Marc Ferrier, the co-owner of The Admiral bar in Glasgow city centre, alongside father in law Ken.

Marc told Glasgow Live :

“I think that the local area is really up and coming. It’s a great community pub and we thought we could really get something going here. It’s about keeping the tradition and also moving forward.”

According to the Glasgow Herald, “The refurbishment, which is due to last for around six weeks, will see The Thornwood transformed into a traditional, premium pub with a contemporary twist and family friendly atmosphere. There will also be the introduction of a new food menu and drinks range, as well as improvements to the outside area.”

According to the Glasgow Herald the plan was to reimagine the pub from ‘tired local into a quality traditional pub serving great food and drink that the whole neighbourhood can enjoy‘.
